What was SOAS Coding Club

Originally founded in 2017 by Chipo Mapondera as a postgraduate at SOAS, the SOAS Coding Club aimed to upskill humanities students by providing comprehensive courses on computer science and coding topics. Over the course of 5 years, SOAS Coding Club ran nearly 10 courses, a few workshops, and helped hundreds of humanity students learn coding.

What was my role at SOAS Coding Club

Although officially acting as the society President, my role was perhaps closer to that of a standard lecturer, along with running workshop-type classes. My main functional role was within the context of the Python Programming courses provided. Over roughly 5 semesters, including the COVID-19 pandemic, I planned and lead the following courses:
